The evaluation of various phases of American history assists in having a proper overview of national changes. The significant changes in the US between the second half of US history from 1877 and the present history of post-2000 provide a proper understanding of the United States. The major historical events in the US are the Progressive Movement and the Obama presidency. The two events changed the political and social development in the US.
The Progressive Era focused on addressing problems in the US between the 1890s and 1920s. The social reforms developed by the progressives assisted in dealing with the complex issues in the nation. The Progressive Era addressed social problems from urbanization to industrialization and immigration. Many activists in the Progressive Era identified the reforms that promote fair competition in the nation. Political corruption reduced during the Progressive Era for increased social and economic development.
The progressives pushed for recognition of the talented people in the community. The period also contributed to an increase in the number of artists, scientists, explorers and researchers. Progressives eliminated the stubbornness and injustices of the government.
