However, Morrison Company has been facing numerous challenges in its production and supply chain in the recent past. One of the Morrison challenges is the lack of rigid production planning and control systems. There is a significant gap in the reception and fulfillment of orders. This is primarily due to the supply shortage of the most popular raw materials, such as the IC. There are no efficient and effective production planning and control systems. The company's C-suite is also concerned about the high production costs, particularly in the retail line, due to the introduction of the personification feature. Another issue ailing the Morrison Company is the high than expected production costs in the retail line.
In the preliminary stages, Breen can conduct market research for the potential vendors to increase lead-time and fulfill orders on time. As part of the existing production policy, it is viable to build a reliable vendor list. Given the existing shortage in the American market, it is plausible to extend its horizons and search for the materials in other regions. For instance, the company can import raw materials.
