Summary of the film A Better Life
Eric Eason wrote the movie A Better Life, a Mexican-American drama film produced in 2011 and directed by Chris Weitz. It features a family that depends on the income from a single truck for survival in a foreign land. Unfortunately, the truck is stolen, and the owner's family has to look for it. The movie has a happy ending where Anita, the gang member, reforms, the protagonists go through tough times to survive and fight for their freedom ("A Better Life | Prime Video").
The protagonist, Carlos, is an undocumented Mexican immigrant who works in Los Angeles in the US. He works as a gardener for the rich people in the US town. Carlos lives with his 15 years old son Luis, raising him without his mother, who left them some years ago. They live on hand to mouth basis by working daily for the day's food from the tiny house he lives in. the garden of the house is used as a nursery for his clients.
Life in the US is pulling Carlos and his son apart. Carlos tries to live a low-profile life in the neighborhood. While his son Luis has not joined any gang yet, he is on the verge of joining one. Luis is dating Anita, a gang member...
