Performative Matrix: Plato’s Allegory of The Cave, A Springboard for The Matrix
In this article, the author does a fantastic job at elaborating of the relationship between The Matrix and Plato’s Allegory of the Cave. According to the article, The Matrix trilogy is grounded in the philosophy espoused by Plato in the allegory of the cave (Dew). The striking and truthful nature of the allegory, according to the author, is responsible for inspiring The Matrix trilogy and its characters. In order to demonstrate this thesis and its validity, the author proceeds to highlight the similarities that exist between The Matrix and the allegory of the cave.
In order to effectively demonstrate this fact, the author chooses to focus on the core aspects of the allegory and demonstrate their reiteration in the film.
