The Relationship between gods and humans in Odyssey
Historically, ancient Greek were religious people who strongly believed in gods and goddesses. They acknowledged the presence of gods and their intervention in their lives. Thus, Greek people held the existence of gods in high regard and adorned them with high reverence and respect. Therefore a relationship existed between gods and humans, in which gods were immortal, and humans were mortal.
In the Odyssey, Homer portrays that greek people often tried to please gods and goddesses, and in some cases, they were rewarded.
