I always believed that films reflect the realities and circumstances surrounding the specific period when it was created. Although some films might not precisely reflect the situation during those days, the art, concept, methods, and even the underlying themes could provide an insight into the times when it was created. Accordingly, one of the exciting films that we have watched in class was Howard Hawk’s Red River. Red River, I believe, was a strong manifestation of the Western culture during the 1940s especially considering both its plot and themes.
