The “Parasite” is a Korean film that demonstrates the capacity of the poor to do extraordinary things to reach a certain level of comfort CITATION Joo19 \l 1033 (Joon-ho, 2019). The director portrayed the message clearly with the help of fantastic sound effects per dialogue in the beginning, middle, and end of the film.
The initial scene portrayed the low-income family's home, showing that it is like a basement below the road. A soft and almost inaudible monotonous sound effect, which resembles an end of a call or tinnitus inside the ear was played. The sound effect persisted until Ki-Woo talked to Ki-Jung about finding a signal inside their tiny home. The use of this sound is brilliant as it visualized a scene with a deafening silence, which gives a hint that the film might have a mystery to be solved.
A part of the middle scene was when the mystery couple had overtaken the poor family inside the mansion. During this time, the wife, who had kept her husband at the mansion’s basement, massages his back while “In Ginocchio Da Te” by Gianni Morand...
