Personal religious history and experience
I was raised in a Christian religious family. Since my parents were members of the Roman Catholic Church, I also became a member by default. Accordingly, I attended church services every Sunday and bible study classes at least twice a week. As a Christian, I was raised to believe in a supreme being who is God. His message to his people is constantly conveyed through priests and prophets. It is also revealed in the Bible, a holy book, which I was taught to respect and obey. Additionally, I grew up with the mentality of knowing that everyone is a sinner. This sin can only be erased by accepting Jesus and the message of salvation he brings from God. In this regard, my parents and religious teachers encouraged me to become baptized, constantly repent and to be good to every person I interacted with.
Growing up, I did not have any slightest idea of how much these teachings impacted my life. However, I can confidently admit that they have had a lot of influence on me. I recently came to identify myself as religious when I discovered that I believe in all the teachings of the bible. I tend to align my actions with the requirements of the Bible.
