Personal Narrative
Everyone likes to be around a person who makes them feel happy and comfortable; happiness is what everyone looks for in friendships. For me, I value my friends because they bring me joy and make me look at life in a positive way. Since childhood, I love interacting with people and making new friends. My family kept moving from one city to the other, and I could not keep up with the pace. I started feeling discouraged about making new friends because I knew it would not last.
My parents had a consultancy firm, and some of their clients would require their services for a longer period. This would mean moving to a particular city for a while. With time the need to make new friends faded away and simply remained memories in the back of my head. I did not bother much about making new friends because our friendship would not last. I still remember faces and names of my old friends and only wish I could relive. "This is life, you have to let go something " this is what my mother used to tell me each at every time we were moving to a new town.
My mom told me that friends come and go and you will always make new ones. This is a bittersweet reality. There is one person I still remember up to today, she was my best friend, but one day something terrible happened while we were in school that left everyone in shock. It was in middle school when I lost my best friend. As usual, I arrived at school and went to my locker after that proceeded to homeroom where we usually talked with my friend before the morning classes began. I asked one of the girls if she had seen Jessica. We always went to get breakfast from the school canteen in the morning; I just imagined that she was just running late or she had decided to talk to some of her friends a little longer. While we were chatting with another friend, one of my classmates ran in the homeroom and yelled "Jessica has fallen in the hallway someone help" I pushed quickly through the crowd of kids who by then had surrounded her while she was lying on the ground. One of the teachers knelt down and told everyone to get back to their respective classes. We all stood there looking worried; the teacher ordered us to call the school nurse and again told us to go to class.
Everyone got confused and did not know what to do. One of the students ran to call the school nurse while the other children went back to class. The teacher stood in the hallway waiting for the nurse to arrive. I watched the scene through the window as the nurse started the CPR on her. The teacher who saw us watching from the window, he later came to class and told us that Jessica was going to be fine. He told us not to worry much about what happened to her. The teacher informed that Jessica was going to receive the best treatment in a nearby hospital. After a few minutes, I saw Jessica's mother arrive at school running, crying and asking several questions.
I wanted to go to the hospital with my friends, but the teacher would not let me. Everyone was instructed to stay in their respective classes until the paramedics arrived, and she was taken to the hospital. Everyone was talking about it. After classes, I had to attend gymnastics classes again everyone was talkin...
