Essay Prompt
What is the most important piece of advice that every prospective Pasadena City College student should know upon entering college? Whether this is your first day in college or your last semester, you undoubtedly have important insight that would benefit other students, so based on your experiences and observations as a PCC student, what is the most useful bit of information you can share with prospective students to help facilitate their transition to college and to eventually succeed?
Requirements
Your essay should display a cohesive structure that includes a general introduction with a clear statement of your central idea (thesis), a series of body paragraphs that help support and illustrate the main idea with detailed examples (from your experiences, observations, and wisdom), and a conclusion that summarizes your discussion and leaves the reader with a parting thought for future study.
The essay should consist of 3 to 5 pages and be presented in MLA format, including 12pt font, double-space, 1-1.5 inch margins, and pagination at the top-left margin.
Your essay is the result of a laborious undertaking, so be proud of your accomplishment and give it a unique and engaging title. In other words, don’t send it into the world without a name, or worse, with a generic name like “Essay 1.”
This first essay is built primarily upon your own insight so additional sources are not required.

One of the important choices is thinking carefully before deciding on the major you shall pursue. Be very careful with the major you choose since it becomes the foundation of your career and determines what you can pursue in the coming days.
Choosing a major after careful consideration can save your time if you have to take extra courses when you change your major in the future. When selecting a college major, you should think beyond the undergraduate degree. For instance, you could be having plans to return to college to undertake a professional degree much later. In such a case, you need to ensure that the undergraduate major aligns with the professional degree you will want to take in the future. If you are going to take medicine in the future, choose an undergraduate major in biology or any relevant subject. If you are thinking of pursuing law, then political science classes would be helpful. Where your major is different, you will be forced to return to school to undertake the particular course before proceeding. So that you save on time and costs, pick your major wisely.
