Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism are some of the religions present in the world today and they date back to centuries ago. Religion has shaped social structures and has become an integral part in human systems in their cultures. Most of these religions arose from beliefs that people from the medieval ages believed and associated with. For instance Christianity is influenced by the Hebrew Bible which was written by Hebrews who believed in the existence of a supernatural being called God. Other religions spread from one continent or country to another for instance Islam was spread by Arabs during their political conquests across the globe and also through Arabic traders.
Over the centuries human beings have developed religious ideas that they believe in with every population and individuals following their own beliefs. For instance, some of the beliefs include believing in supernatural beings while others have nothing to place their beliefs in. Human beings have created social-cultural systems that relate them with supernatural beings or items through texts moral behaviors, prophecies, places that have been made sacred among others (Robert, 28). An example of a text that has shaped human cultural ways is the bible that was developed or written centuries or ages ago. The Hebrew Bible was written by ancient Hebrews and has influenced two major religions which are Islam and Christianity (The Hebrew Bible, 151). The book contains vast literature written in many forms which include poetry and prose.
