Main symptoms and signs of CTE?
Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) presents through a change in thinking, mood, and behavior. These symptoms are mild initially, but as neurodegeneration progresses, the symptoms worsen, interfering with an individual’s normal functioning. For example, problems in thinking intensify through learning difficulties and memory lapse. Mood problems such as irritability, loss of motivation, depression, and suicidal thoughts and actions grow. Behavior changes such as aggressiveness, violence, and substance abuse also manifest. Dementia is also a sign of progression of the disease.
