The two linear classification videos were interesting and vital tools to learn about the Linnaean classification levels. While I learned a lot from the “Scientific Classification Song video,” I learned more from Jen Solomon’s “Linnaean Classification.” The video thoroughly explained the meaning of taxonomy, easy to understand and remember. It outlined and explained the seven levels of Linnaean Classification, namely Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family Genus, and Species, in a simple manner and with an example of a leopard (“Linnaean Classification”). Additionally, it provided two acronyms, which I found interesting and easy to learn, thereby easing the process of remembering the classification. The video also taught me the correct way of writing Genus and species names through clear and simple examples. Additionally, it utilizes minimal information to explain the classification, making it easy to grasp all the information and store it effortlessly (“Linnaean Classification”).
