The experience that changed my life was when my father decided to quit vaping. Vaping is inhaling of vapor originating from an electronic cigarette, or other types of vaping devices. These devices are usually powered by batteries and have liquids that contain nicotine, chemicals, and other flavors. Before this life-changing, I always perceived vaping as a recreational habit and had minimal health effects. Since my father engaged in vaping frequently, I was always emulating him and buying vaping devices. However, I had not disclosed to him that I had started vaping like him. I was always waiting for an opportune time so that I could tell my father about my secret habit.
On January 25th 2021, my father started to experience chest problems. He was forced to go for checkup to a nearby health center. The practitioners undertook several tests to identify what the main problem was. The doctors noted that my father was suffering from inflamed lungs, which resulted from the frequent vaping. Although vaping is regarded as a safer compared to normal cigarette, it also exposes the consumer to numerous respiratory problems. The specialists assessed the lungs and noted the severity of the inflammation. They acknowledged that it was possible to restore the lungs but he had to quit vaping immediately. There was no medication to treat the inflamed lungs and the only solution was to quit vaping.
