Week 3 Forum – Insurgent
Veronica Roth's novel (and film adaptation) Insurgent is one of the books in the Divergent Trilogy. Various developments have already happened in the main characters' lives in this novel, including Beatrice' Tris' Prior. Accordingly, one of the leading 'symbolisms' that characterized this development was Tris' act of cutting her hair. While this act might not look very significant at all, this is, in fact, one of the central representations of the change that would happen in her life. A girl cutting her hair is usually a symbol of defiance, strength, or discovering something new. It could be seen that the story of the Insurgent is about the beginning of her dedication to defy the established society where they belong. This time, she has become fully dedicated to defying what others believe...
