Veronica Roth's novel (and film adaptation) Insurgent is one of the books in the Divergent Trilogy. Various developments have already happened in the main characters' lives in this novel, including Beatrice' Tris' Prior. Accordingly, one of the leading 'symbolisms' that characterized this development was Tris' act of cutting her hair. While this act might not look very significant at all, this is, in fact, one of the central representations of the change that would happen in her life.
