France Government System
The governmental system of France includes the executive, the legislature, and the judiciary. The President appoints the Prime Minister, who acts as the head of government. The Prime Minister is responsible to the legislature, and the whole government, which includes the Prime Minister, can be revoked by the National Assembly (Expatica, 2020). The executive also includes the council of ministers (Gouvernement, n.d.).
The legislature consists of the National Assembly and the Senate. The responsibilities of the legislative arm are passing laws and vote on the government budget. Moreover, the executive arm's actions are controlled by the legislature through cross-examination of ministers and other leaders on the National Assembly or the Senate (Expatica, 2020). There is a constitutional council that evaluates the constitutionality of all legislation passed in the legislature.
