A Case Study of Fight Over the Redwoods
Introduction
Timber harvesting is one of the economic activities in the U.S. Pacific Lumber Company established a strong reputation on the matter of logging. Initial, the company used to be own and managed by family members with a sustainable model that promotes social responsibility and environmental awareness. Since the company owns the most reproductive timberland of approximately 220,000 acres, the company was careful and considerate in maintaining the ecosystem. Ancient redwood forests have more value which cannot be compared with the economic value which was suggested by Hurwitz. The redwood forest has priceless value. The headwater grove was very important to Hurwitz. He believed that upon an exploration of the grove would be able to settle all of his debts and make more interests from the sales. Despite all expectations and interests kept on an exploration of the grove, but environmentalists ...
