Essay Instructions:

can you please send to me the two prewriting strategies you will use?
Clustering - making a map of ideas and showing how those ideas relate to one another
Listing - compiling a list of ideas to see how many ideas you can generate
Freewriting - writing nonstop for five minutes to see what ideas pour onto the page; when you freewrite, you do not worry about grammar or development since the primary goal is to generate ideas
Journalist Questions - ask questions related to your topic idea(s), such as who, what, where, why, when, and how. Figure 4.2 in Writing Matters provides a strong example.
Stasis Theory - This questioning method aligns itself well with Essay 2. See the following website for an example. The strategy typically works best after you have a topic idea.

REVISION INSTRUCTIONS:
"i got this from the tutors at the writing center. they asked me to correct the following
- First of all, think of other ways you could introduce the purpose of the essay, without actually stating “The purpose of the essay is”. What is your overall point that you will be making in the rest of your paper? Think of a good statement that represents and encomPASSes all your points in the most concise, summarized manner. I would suggest something along the lines of “very few people are aware of the real definition of a leader” or “the real definition of a leader is different from what most people believe”. Isn’t that your point?
- The body of your essay seems quite disorganized. The points are all over the place. Keep similar points in one place (same paragraph) and be clear what point you are making in each paragraph, tying it back to your thesis.
- The paragraph related to feared leaders should either be elaborated or incorporated into another paragraph where it would make sense. On its own, it feel incomplete and out of place.
- You need a better conclusion paragraph. I suggest adding one in addition to what you have already. A good conclusion paragraph should tie back to your thesis and wrap up all your points nicely, without introducing new claims. It should bring your essay back full circle, rephrasing your overall point.
- The second citation in your works cited page has an error. For citing web sources, the date does not go inside brackets after the website name. It goes Website Name, 12 Aug. 2019, *web link*. If the date and month are unavailable, just write the year."
