THE WAY TO SOCIALISM
Keen observers can realise that the current American politics is rife with politics of socialism policies and self-dependence as a form of improving the economy of the nation. There are influential figures such as John Conyers, David Bonior, Maxine Waters and many more other congressional representatives advocating for socialism as a form of improving people’s lives. While democrats are advocating for programs to enhance the welfare of its citizens, the leaders have shown mixed reactions on this initiatives. Republicans on the other hand led by Romney are yearning to see a republic with citizens who are self-reliant (Segneri, 2012).
Mitt Romney who was the chief opponent of the newly re-elected president of the United States was one time quoted as saying that he might not obtain the votes of over 50% of American voters, as he sees them “dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims.” According to him, the government ought not to support the citizens as in providing food, Medicare, clothing, shelter, etc. This makes the citizens to depend upon the government while they may be capable of fending for themselves. Romney’s political stand is that citizens should be taught on being self depended as depending on the government will turn them into “democratic addicted voters (Romney, 2012).
Romney’s point of view can however be declared misplaced because by exploring states such as eastern Kentucky, south-eastern Missouri, Northern Arkansas, Idaho and Montana which heavily rely on the government support, you will see the Irony in his sentiments as most of the voters support the republicans who are the government opponents (Romney, 2012).

This may be attributed to the fact that while Obama’s administration has conducted a number of programs to support the people, some of them do not show any appreciation but blame the government, going as far as supporting the opponents. Moreover, democrats argue that who are assisted by the government do not show initiatives of seeking their own means of support ( HYPERLINK "/wa_beatty/" Beatty, 2002).
Based on his policies, the Obama administration has been in the middle lane and many people are questioning whether his government is keen on enhancing socialism or capitalism. Though the USA president has been in control of the economy, much of his policies have been geared towards enhancing capitalism. The argument that arises here is that by Obama leaving institutions and entities in private hands, he may be seeking ways to distance himself from economic problem that may arise and set a blame game on those who is in control of those entities ( HY...
