One dominant lifestyle that the young generation remains gloomed to is celebrity lifestyle. People no longer talk about good morals in the society. Celebrity current dominates the mainstream of advertisement and entertainment. The media currently show programs that celebrities produce for the people instead of by the people. The celebrity lifestyle is out of hand, and the marketing scheme attracts potential customers to their products using the celebrities. In fact, it is not our choice to embrace morals, and ethical practices as many sellers use the superstars to advertise their products in erotic by portraying sexual behaviors as well as their photo-shopped bodies to reach their customers. Celebrities have no audacity to be accorded role models as their behaviors negatively influence the youth in the society to be abusive, destructive and dangerous. Instead, people should embrace themselves for inspiration or get mentorship from their parents for the discretion to identify the right way to live. Thus, I concur with the idea that our society changes to the wrong end due to celebrity worship. The current society is apparently obsessed with the celebrity culture relayed on the media platform. Indeed, celebrities have impacts on the community and at an individual level. Many people commend changes in fashion trends, lifestyles, behaviors, beliefs, and interests. However, celebrities dictate much of their lives. A person begins to feel obsessed with the lifestyle of a particular personality at an early age and strives to emulate the lifestyle of such a celebrity who then becomes his role model. However, does the positive influence of the celebrities outweigh their negative impacts on the society? I would love not to emulate the life of a star. For example most of the celebrities in the current community are drug addicts. Indeed, celebrities command over 90 percent influence on their fans and the young generation. Drug abuse among stars is currently at a rate of 72.6 percent compared to the global average for all citizens in connection to illegal drugs use that comes at 13.7 percent (Hayden-McNeil 33). The percentage difference in comparison is high which shows that the young generation and fans that follow celebrities have high risks or abusing illegal drugs. Well, the statistic provided by Hayden-McNeil indicates that as a society, we head for the worse due to celebrity worship. In fact, celebrities are not role models for children and youth in the current generation. Moreover, children of age between 7 and 15 years were 13 percent at risk of buying illicit drugs as they follow the lives of stars and others celebrities in different social media, Televisions and magazines (Hayden-McNeil 33).
