What are genres?
Genes are sorts, kinds, types, or forms of communication in different modes that are agreed-upon in diverse conventions in society. They are commonly referred to as classes of music, literature, or various forms of entertainment or art, whether audial or visual, written or spoken basing on some stylistic features. Hence, Genres can be functional, communicative, rhetorical, or aesthetic CITATION Hip08 \p 221 \l 1033 (Llama 221). However, research, as shown that genres which are formed from changing conventions are more often than not discontinued as the culture, adopts new ones which are invented as time goes by. Usually, art and culture embed into genres through recombination and borrowing from different inventions. Additionally, some pieces of communication, creativity, work, and stand-alone texts have individual features of style, but genres are combinations of all the books because of socially inferred or agreed-upon conventions. However, some genes have a firm and strictly adhered-to courses of action, while others are simple and flexible.
Definition of Genres
Genres are referred to as forms of music, literature, or art, which are significantly characterized by a specific style, content, and structure. For instance, there are four main types of genres in literature; thus, non-fiction, fiction, drama, and poetry CITATION Hip08 \p 249 \l 1033 (Llama 249). They provide conventional answers to rhetorical circumstances which occur very often. However, each of these genres has specific functions and attributes which differentiates them from others. Hence, readers must be keen to note the type of styles before they read it and develop some expectations when reading the genre.
