There are significant differences between the slides and the book content and context on chapter 8. The two however are discussing the elements of Application of controls, but their approaches are rather different. It is these differences that form the core of this paper. A closer look at the slides reveals some crucial highlighters that could easily be compared to the content of the book.
The slides by Hakob Avetisyan, point to a more simplified approach of understanding the concepts behind controls in a project. There are three main categories of aspects that need to be controlled when it comes to construction projects. These are crucial to the health of the project at any stage and they also reflect on the various parties and their efforts towards making the project a success. As such, if there are parties that are bringing the project down, it is much easier to identify the same at any stage with much ease. The three main categories mentioned under the slides include the inputs, tools and techniques along with the outputs of the project in question. It is crucial to note that these are general categories and will apply to any project, regardless of the size or cost.
