The law enforcement agencies have tried out several technologies that can aid in detecting and fighting crimes. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) recently tried out a surveillance system that spies on people's online profiles. According to an article by Bhuiyan and Levin from The Guardian, the LAPD has partnered with Voyager Labs, a tech start-up company, to come up with a software system that pulls information from social media to deconstruct individual public and private lives and assess their participation in a crime.
