"The main thing that separates F and Mazar is the large stone structure." Excavator Eilat Mazar unearthed a few massive walls in the city of David, dated them to the 10th BCE, and interpreted them as the remains of the palace of King David. Mazar connected the large stone structure to the stepping stone structure on the eastern part of Shiloh. She supports her evidence with a few Iron IIA pottery items found at the site of the excavation and on a highly literal reading of the bible context. She argued that David's palace is identified based on the topology in 2nd Samuel 5.
