Question 1: Characteristics of the Renaissance
Renaissance period also means the awakening and was experienced between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries. On the other side, the Middle Age period was experienced between the fifth century and sixteenth centuries and the two eras are significantly different when compared. It is critical to note that Renaissance is regarded as the bridge between the Middle Ages and Modern Age and some of the features that set Renaissance apart from the Middle Ages include the objectivity whereby the era pressed upon the people with the goal of deriving their knowledge from a visible world and not from abstract ideas. The Renaissance period played a critical role in facilitating interest in the visible world and not from the world of idealism. This era also was mainly focused on concrete things and reality.
Additionally, both Renaissance (14th to 16th centuries) and Middle Ages (5th to 16th centuries) existed in different period. Additionally, the church in the Middle Ages played a huge impact on peoples’ lives than in the Renaissance Age. Besides, exploration was common in Renaissance and it was characterized by the need for individuals such as the merchants to expand their territories. Besides, people in the Renaissance Age embraced humanism where the scholars and poets started concerning themselves with real-world problems.

Machiavelli stresses different characteristics that are common in a successful Prince. For example, the prince is expected to have great and extraordinary deeds that are instrumental in facilitating the success of the kingdom. Besides, the prince is expected to be fearless, courageous and should set fine examples. Machiavelli asserts that the Ferdinand of Aragon has demonstrated these characteristics through how he gained fame and glory and become the foremost king (Machiavelli).
