The Veterans Are Coming! The Veterans are Coming!             This article by Edward Palm (2008) attempts to provide clarity on how tertiary education institutions can better serve their students who have served in the military. According to Palm, there has been a “prevailing fear…that the democratization of higher education would inevitably result in the debasement of higher education” (Palm, 2008). Palm believes that the decreasing standard in higher education may be due to accommodation of veterans in the system and the unnecessary special treatment these veterans are receiving.
