Cause and Effect Essay: Starting Over

Essay Instructions:

A disappointment or a success (Cause) that changed your personal outlook (Effect) and explain two or three effects that occurred from the cause.
This is a personal essay and does not need researched. You may use first person "I" but not second person "you." The essay should be presented in MLA style by following the format in the example attached to this assignment. The essay should be at least 700 words and no more than 900 words. The essay must include an introductory paragraph with a thesis statement, appropriate number of body paragraphs, and a clear conclusion.

Starting Over
During my teenage years, I was brought up in a community that I grew to appreciate and love. Every person knew each other, thus tightening bonds between people and providing opportunities to create meaningful relationships. Every day was an opportunity to go out and experience life differently by interacting with friends, family, and new people. However, at one point, my father got an opportunity to work elsewhere, and we had to move to a new town. I could not comprehend why he would make such a decision at a point when we were all comfortable and happy with ourselves. This was a significant change at the time since I would be leaving everyone I knew back home and starting life afresh. Consequently, this was a life-changing moment requiring adjustments and adjusting as a young teen who had grown fond of my hometown.
The move was a significant change in my life, and I was initially unhappy about it. I felt that my parents decided to disrupt my life without considering my feelings in the whole matter. More so, I feared having to start socializing and finding new friends at school and in the neighborhood. While I considered myself an extrovert, I had not experienced such a massive change in my life and developed fears about whether the people would be as accepting as they were back home. However, I had no choice and had to move and start my new life as the new kid on the block and at school.
My first day at school was fairly uneventful, with very few people talking to me. It felt strange to be the person everyone stared at when I entered the room. To make matters worse, when my English teacher asked me to introduce myself, I was scared that I mumbled something prompting everyone to laugh. However, the teacher was quick to react and encouraged me to calm down, breathe and talk when am ready. This was particularly helpful, and I could quickly overcome the fear I felt. This was a stepping stone in the right direction, enabling me to develop my courage during interactions and begin to make new friends.
