In this exercise, you will select a company from the list below and research its code of social responsibility (CSR). Locate as much information from that brand that you can, and then evaluate the level to which the company lives up to its stated CSR. Choose one of the following companies:
TOMS
Stella McCartney
Warby Parker
Subaru.
Be sure to cite all of your researched work using MLA style.
Procedure
After selecting a company, conduct research to identify the company’s code of social responsibility. Then, write a brief 2 – 4-page paper in which you do the following:
Identify your selected company.
Share the company’s stated CSR.
Describe how the company aspires to meet its CSR, or what the company is doing to try and align with that code.
Evaluate the degree of effectiveness to which the company meets its CSR goals. Is the company doing what it set out to do? How is it implementing its CSR? Can you make any determination as to how important CSRs are for target consumers of this company?

The company that I chose to assess is TOMS by Blake Mycoskie. When discussing corporate social responsibility (CSR), TOMS is one of the first companies that comes to mind because they are very popular for their social mission in creating positive change and giving back to the people. Among the many projects of TOMS, the most evident are sustainability and community development.
The company is committed to making its products environment-friendly and sustainable by putting effort into using sustainable cotton and eco-friendly manufacturing processes, developing packages that are made with mostly recycled materials, and decreasing the company’s carbon footprint. TOMS does not just value its products, but also its people. In TOMS the employees receive fair wages and humane treatment. In addition to these, the employees have high job satisfaction due to the given opportunity to be part of the social impact that TOMS shoes give to the people, from kids to the marginalized populations. The company is also a part of the Fair Labor Association to ensure good working conditions and company accountability (Toms® Official Site).
When it comes to the community, TOMS also has social issues that it wants to invest in to create positive change. These social issues are gun violence, mental health, and accessibility of opportunities.
