Self-Assessment
I have always been interested in a career in finance. Specifically, I want a career as a financial analyst. Many finance professionals would agree that financial analyst is the initial job title many prominent individuals in the finance field started with. As such, it would be a pleasure to secure my first job as a financial analyst. Depending on a company, financial analysts are responsible for conducting assigned analysis tasks and reporting to senior personnel. This post will be a great position to commence my career since I will have an opportunity to learn from experienced individuals in the field. I expect that as an analyst, I will be tasked with assessing the company’s stocks and bonds performance and the performance of other investments. This role means that I will contribute to the overall decision-making process of a company. The thought of such a future excites me because I usually find purpose when I feel like I am part of a bigger thing.
I feel like a financial analysis career is the best option for me because of my impeccable analytical skills. As many professionals in the field would agree, analytical skills are essential in financial analysis. I have always enjoyed technical such as math and sciences throughout my learning years. These are the subjects that have made me excited at the thought of waking up every school day morning. While I have learned many theories in these subjects, I believe it is time to get into the job market and practice what I have been learning. I hope I will get a chance at investment banks or firms to practice the theories I have learned and serve as a financial analyst.
Strengths

As my Jung Typology Test results showed, I am an observant person. This implies that I am focused on the present. This is an important trait when it comes to analyzing data. As a student, I have been privileged to serve as an accountant twice for the school math’s club. Most of my work entailed keeping financial records for the funds obtained through a membership fee and other club activities. To keep organized records, I resulted in using excel sheets which are best suited for keeping financial records. Without being observant, it would have been easy to make mistakes while keeping these records. Due to my observant nature, I hardly made errors while keeping excel records for the club. I believe this personality trait will help conduct the duties of a financial analyst. Moreover, it might come in handy wh...
