Provide background on your primate (where are they found, what do they eat, how are they organized, and a basic description of their anatomy).
Identify the question you wish to answer.
Outline the evidence you need in order to answer your question and the methods you will use to collect the evidence.
Identify any potential challenges you anticipate.
Conclude by explaining why your research is significant or relevant.
It is likely that you will need to research beyond the text and articles to provide adequate background for your selected species. Remember, your proposal is for a field study. Laboratory studies, including studies that introduce human technology into natural settings, are unacceptable for this research proposal. Observing chimpanzees reveals a huge overlap between their behaviors and those of human beings. However, the attributes of chimpanzees cannot be compared directly to those of humans since people have independently evolved for millions of years (Fuentes). Chimpanzees are natives of sub-Saharan Africa and they reside in the jungles and forests. Their foods consist of fruits, vegetation, insects, honey, and so on. When it comes to physiology and anatomy, the arms of chimpanzees are longer that the legs, and a male adult weighs approximately 40 to 60 kilograms. Yamamoto, Humle and Tanaka argue that chimpanzees can help each other upon request, especially when it comes to food sharing and other social behaviors.
Despite of the differences between primates, what are the common or shared attributes between chimpanzees and humans?
To answer this question, a number of factors will be considered, including:
* Observation method will be used to collect evidence.
* Collected data will be compared with published materials.
* Videos from reputable sites such as National Geographic will be instrumental in analyzing the attributes of chimpanzees.
The major challenge that is anticipated is the collection of primary data since physical observation will require travel to parks and other habitats where the primates are located. This may require high travelling expenses and extended amount of time. Another challenge is differentiating between factual data and fake news since some published information may contain false information.
In conclusion, this research is highly relevant since it will be instrumental in analyzing and documenting the attributes of chimpanzees, which are primates that are considered to be close relatives of human beings. Furthermore, the research will determine the shared attributes between humans and chimpanzees and the capacity of these characteristics to be emulated by these animals.
