The Influence That Cubism And Constructivism on Sculpture
Cubism, pioneered by renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, is an art movement which was characterized by fragmentation of the subject matter. The defragmented subject matter was deconstructed in a unique way that many angles can be viewed simultaneously. It is one of the most influential movements since it began in the early 20th century. Cubism led to other innovations in art, writing, sculpture, futurism, among other essential art industries. The most significant influence that cubism and constructivism had was on sculpture.
Cubism influenced sculpture by creating more than one dimension point of view. The art movement was not only focused on viewpoints but also on simultaneity. It led to freedom from depicting a single viewpoint at a specific moment in space and time. Some of the early sculpture which were the pioneers of multidimensional viewpoints were fully explored by the sculptors to depict movement, geometry, time and perspective.
