Concert Review: Apollo Orchestra - Millennium
For this paper, I watched the uploaded live stream of Apollo Orchestra - Millennium Stage. The orchestra had a live performance on March 5, 2020, at The Kennedy Center. They posted their performance for a live stream on March 6, 2020, as a pre-recorded performing media made available on Youtube (TheKennedyCenter).
The first-hand experience of classical concerts is one of a kind experience. You would never stop admiring their talents while listening to their music. Some may find classical concerts plain and unexciting. It is true for those who do not enjoy classical and instrumental music. Most of the time, they would enjoy lyrical songs, upbeat rhythms, and engineered music. Classical enthusiasts, on the other hand, enjoy every note of every instrument in a classical orchestra. I, for one, am not a fan of classical music as I am more into popular music. I could not appreciate the technicalities of classical music because I am not familiar with it. However, I am still moved by the amount of talent that classical musicians have to manipulate their instruments to create sound.
When we say a classical concert, we will picture a big auditorium with the orchestral instruments arranged on stage. The seats would also be descending from the opposite side of the stage. Contrary to the expectation, the concert I watched performed at a smaller venue with a stage small enough for the musicians. Another thing I noticed is the small number of participants performing.
