1 How did you like Predictability Irrational? Explain.
Predictability irrational was able to explain a lot of things. For example, I was surprised to learn that our mind uses comparative thinking to make decisions, compare different options given during an offer or even compare themselves with others. Sometimes people act irrationally to the extent that can go against their expectations or what is good for them.
2 I want you to watch the following movie: “Dis(Honesty): The Truth about Lies” (it is 3.99 on amazon.com) (it is 89 minutes long, so it is a full-length film). I want you then to answer the following questions related to the film (some questions can be answered with just one sentence—some require a bit more):
* What is the fudge factor? We can cheat a little bit without seeing ourselves or what we are doing as bad.
* Which story of lying was most compelling to you? Why?
The story I found more compelling was the story of Joe Papp who was found guilty of doping so that he could win cycling races. With this story I realized that people cheat a lot just to get what they want. Some will go to the extent of using drugs to improve their performance. At the end of the day, fans celebrate when tone wins but they do not know what transpired.
* When you lie, what happens to the probability that you will lie again? Why?
When a person lies, there is a high probability that one will lie again. This is because it gets easier. One will also want to get in control of everything, and that is why an individual will lie again and again.
