Brexit provided a unique opportunity for the United Kingdom to establish a new path outside the European Union. It was widely believed that leaving the European Union would produce long-term economic benefits for the country. One of the significant economic benefits arising from the EU membership is the sovereignty of the United Kingdom. With this power, the United Kingdom will have sway in governing domestic affairs and ensuring that proper policies are implemented to influence domestic growth and ensure that trade favors local investors. Although this would come with the nation releasing its influence and power in Europe, the exit from the European Union will offer new opportunities for long-term growth by supporting domestic investments and limiting competition with foreign products (Vaitilingam).
