Since the first man walked the planet, numerous discoveries have been made to make our lives simpler and help us survive even the worst of circumstances. We can fly across oceans in a single day. We've developed technology that allows us to communicate with someone virtually in real time. We've discovered ways to extend the life of our food due to the development of plastics.
Carbon Footprints
But all this progress in our lives has a significant influence on the world in which we live; every action we do today has repercussions, whether we are conscious of them or not. This is referred to as Carbon Footprint, and it refers to human behaviors that have a major impact on the environment. Our Carbon Footprint also affects the balance between in the Carbon Cycle of the environment.
The quantity of carbon emitted by a group of people or a single individual is referred to as their carbon footprint. According to Selin (n.d.), The carbon footprint concept is connected to and evolved from the earlier ecological footprint concept developed at the University of British Columbia in the early 1990s by Canadian ecologist William Rees and Swiss-born regional planner Mathis Wacker Nagel. The entire land area necessary to maintain an activity or population is referred to as an ecological footprint.
I have calculated my carbon footprint using the given website, and the result is this:
Imagine how many carbon footprints the United States creates every year, with a population of over 328 million people and a carbon footprint of 2682 per 4 people. Our generation's carbon footprints are melting the polar ice caps on both sides of the globe, resulting in unusual weather patterns that can damage thousands of people when they occur.
