Danie Browning in “Hiding in Plain Sight: Decolonizing Public Memory,” focuses on decolonisation where there is increased focus on studying and understanding how colonialism affected and still affects the Australian Aboriginal people even as colonialism persists. Public artworks in Australia highlight that Aboriginal presence cannot be ignored as the past exist even today and in the future. The author uses a post-colonial approach to highlight how public artworks in Australia challenge mainstream perceptions and narratives on the creation of Australia’s aesthetic and visual decolonisation help to challenge the public memory on Australia’s history.
