After the colonization, they were displaced from these cherished areas, and their normal life was disrupted. In this regard, they lost their freedom due to political oppression and bureaucratic control measures. The indigenous people have diverse ideas of resilience based on distinctive aspects of their culture and values. These are based on the idea that individuals are connected to the community and the environment. The collective history of the people and the richness of their languages and traditions is an essential factor that determines and establishes their resiliency. Through this perspective, resiliency is perceived to offer a collective agency for activism and challenging any forms of oppression. Within the indigenous context, resilience also defines how people understand historical identity and continuity narratives, particularly the revitalization of important elements in their way of life. These elements include language, culture, and tradition, which assist in reconstructing the broken system and enhance cultural continuity. Colonization disrupted the people’s way of life and suppressed their traditions, culture, and identity.
