Qualitative Vs. Quantitative
It is crucial for innovators to understand the market because it would enable them develop products that are viable. Critical to the discussion is the fact that innovators could understand the market through experience or conducting feasibility and market research studies. Market feasibility studies are conducted to identify appropriate businesses for particular locations while market research studies analyse data to identify problems related to the introduction of goods and services to the market. It follows that innovators should understand different types of data used for market research studies in addition to potential threats and critical success factors in order to conduct appropriate market surveys. It is also crucial to not that such a market research should be conducted to identify whether teleportation could be introduced to the market successfully. Therefore, this paper examines qualitative, quantitative, the critical success factors and potential threats associated with the introduction of teleportation into the market.
To begin with, qualitative data could be elucidated as a type of data used for descriptive purpose implying this type of data cannot be categorized numerically (Bernard, 2013). It is notable that such data are also called categorical data because the data can be arranged numerically. For example, gender is qualitative because an individual is either female or male. Other examples of qualitative data include colour, race, and different types of cars. On the contrary, the term quantitative data could be elucidated as data that can be categorized in quantities implying such information can be measured numerically (Bernard, 2013). Examples of such data include, weight, height, and length. Clearly, both qualitative and quantitative data are important when conducting market research because there are instances where it would be appropriate to use qualitative data and instances where it would be appropriate to use quantitative data. Therefore, both qualitative and quantitative data will be used for a market research on teleportation.
Quantitative data that can be used for teleportation should be measured numerically. These include the amount of quanta used in teleportation and the length of teleportation. According to Gisin and Lyle (2014), the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience transported information up to a distance of ten meters devoid of the information travelling through actual space. It follows that length is an example of quantitative data that could be used for market analysis and feasibility of teleportation be...
