This paper endeavors to document the information retrieved from RAD’s online resource center. RAD is a technological company that focuses on data communication (Debby, 2012).
In the first video, the reader learns that a French company, Covage, deployed carrier Ethernet solutions from RAD for service provider customers (RAD University Tutorials, 2012). This is a testimony given by Stephane Cardot, the Sales Director of Covage. Coverage is a French based carrier operating in 15 public initiative networks. According to the video, Covage has 2 data center s and 24 points of presence. The firm serves 70 service provider customers. It has 7200 km of optical fiber serving 2372 communities and 1580000 enterprises. Cardot notes that his firm wanted demarcation equipment, and they proposed RAD’s ETX solution. He notes that RAD’s ETX Ethernet demarcation devices ensure end to end SLAs. Covage had initially sought an application from a Canadian firm called Telus.
The company’s main aim of choosing RAD was to find a demarcation equipment solution for their customers and remain competitive compared to their past solutions. Cardot notes that they aim at not making concessions regarding the quality of service and SLAs that they provide to their clients. He further notes that the required an equipment that is robust and flexible which will enable them continue providing transparent services to their operators. He acknowledges that RAD’s solution has assisted them achieve their goals of perfectly integrating into their process of service delivery. The equipment arrives already pre labeled, pre configured, already set up with laser interface, which on the whole enables them to simplify and optimize the installation time needed at the customer facilities. Future relations between Covage and RAD is will be based on Covage’s aim to increase the spread of the use of solutions from its operator customers especially regarding the former solutions utilized in the past.
This testimony is very useful to RAD’s marketing team. It enables RAD to market its data related applications. The video is clear and audible. It encourages operators to use RAD’s data solutions by outlining some of the benefits of these solutions.
In the second video, RAD’s online TV presenter Bob Eliaz interviews Tobby Korall, the senior product line manager of Wire Communications at RAD Data Communication (RAD University Tutorials, 2012). Bob asks Tobby to explain what segments of the wireless market does RAD target and why. According to Tobby, their main focus is high band TDM and Ethernet solutions. Bob seeks to know what types of applications are involved. Tobby states that cellular backhaul, broadband access and private and government networks are their major applications.
