I am going to share the idea about digital passports.
Nowadays, passports are the most common form of identification for international travel and daily use.
This traditional form of passport exposes us to various risks.one of the most relevant risks to us is personal information leakage.
This kind of physical paper passport is easy to be lost or stolen, which means that your name, date of birth, nationality and place of birth are all exposed.
To prevent such problems,my group came up with the idea of digital passports.
We think this passport should be shown in the form of a QR code.it is stored in our phone and shown whenever and wherever you need. It is more convenient than a traditional passport.
More importantly,it must be digitally encrypted.This is the point we most want to emphasize.
Only authorized agencies and organizations can have keys to read the info on it.
under the premise of relative safety,we think more info can be recorded and used for more purposes.
Recent studies related to e-passport and QR code proposed a novel framework for personal data encryption and biometric data encryptiona embedded in the QR code for a secure biometric passport. (Choudhury & Rabbani, 2019)
In those studies,the biometric data is encrypted using the AES with SHA 256 algorithm in the QR code to secure the information from the legible, information leakage threats. Besides, those studies confirm the technical feasibility of QR code in information encryption.
To solve the leakage of personal information and guarantee the confidentiality of privacy, we proposed three methods which use digital passport to replace physical passport with the application of QR code:
1.The first is build an app which uses QR code and cloud technology. In this method, all customers’ passport information is stored in the cloud drive and be reached with a specific encryption QR code. Only customers themselves and relevant authorities can read those information.
