For the past two decades, Amazon has been serving the consumers globally. The company was founded in 1995 and the vision of the company was that the company would provide a virtual shopping place for people who love books. Amazon is the largest book store in the world. The company offers its services towards the consumers, content creators, enterprises, and sellers. An information system is a set of interrelated components that retrieve process, store and distribute information to enhance decision making in the organization. Management Information system (MIS) emphases on the use of communication and information technologies in managing a company. MIS was created by Amazon to assist in maintaining a high number of products and customers. It has become a global platform for customers and retailers who sell their goods. Because of this system, customers do not have to go to their shop to purchase some goods. This system is accessible on computers and mobile applications. This system is completely useful to the customers and the entire Amazon Company. This is a very important tool that the company uses to coordinate, plan, and communicate with the retailer and consumers worldwide. Without the creation of this information system, then it would be very hard for Amazon to maintain its customers or make high sales.

Just like any other type of information system, the Management Information system has different hardware requirements for the system to operate effectively. Since this is a system that is owned by the company, the system needs to have some hardware components. Hardware is a physical component of computing. It includes things like hard drive, Random Access Memory, a hard disk among others (Gupta, 2011). A hard disk is used to store data on a computer. Hardware that is needed by a company depends on the size of the organization and data requirements. Since Amazon is a big company, it will require a lot of systems to enable employees and customers to share data across different locations. To enhance security to the information system, the company uses the database management system. This ensures data and information is secure because the system is detached from a direct link to the internet.

For any information system to operate effectively, the hardware must have the ability to communicate with other pieces of hardware. To enable this, the software is very important because it will assist in communication between the hardware.
