There is a clear connection between the social work levels (micro, mezzo, and macro) and the five community functions. For example, the levels interconnect with the social participation function. The Generalist Intervention Model (GIM) acknowledges that challenges might engage individuals, groups, families, firms, and societies and even define their role in handling issues of concern from the community context. At times, macro, mezzo, and micro systems might characterize these various-size classifications (Kirst-Ashman, 2015). Depending on how one might define it, the micro-level means individuals, and the mezzo level stands for the small groups. On the other hand, the macro-level or system means the community or an organization.
