It is the state in which a person, country, group, or institution are free from any dangers. States define security as a nation's ability to protect its economy, citizens, and institutions. Countries use several tactics, including diplomacy, military power, and politics, to eliminate any threat posed to their inhabitants, entities, and economy (Cha, 2000). State security also involves protecting the country's social structures, territorial integrity, and independence from subversive activities perpetrated by enemies and other nations' intelligence. Security agencies are a weapon in socialist countries (Cha, 2000). They defend themselves using the military, legal framework, antisocial forces, and imperialist intelligence.
There are various forms of security, and each of them is related to state interests. For instance, cyber security helps in monitoring and identifying cybercrimes. It also assists in determining the use of stolen or false credentials in public bodies and ensures criminals do not attack computer infrastructure (Cha, 2000). In addition, security protects states from various attacks, including terrorism.
Another form of security is against insiders. This is where a person exploits their access to an organization's assets for unauthorized activities. The insider threat has increased due to technological advancement, where the staff have more access to firms' data (Cha, 2000). This form of security protects state organizations from being exploited by foreign companies. Other forms of security include physical and terrorism protection.
