My experience in weekly log activities has so far been enjoyable. For weekly one session, I was able to understand that social workers have to master skills in communication. My career will involve a lot of social interaction. The activities that we carried out in our lab session were amazing. It includes what I do all day, consulting with colleagues, lunch hangouts with friends, and family meetings. My goal in the lab session during week one log was to find out whether I have developed competent persuasive and empathic skills in attending to clients. The outcome was as expected. I interacted with my colleagues while playing the roles of social workers and clients. I noticed that I had low anxiety levels while playing both roles.
Furthermore, my interaction was more persuasive than before. However, the inclusion of Motivational Interviewing (MI) in high situations that involve emotions. I will help me to handle top emotional clients and reflective listening.
