8 1 question      In your own words, describe the key elements you believe are important to have in a coaching agreement.
Makalie Zdenek    In a coaching agreement, I believe there are many pieces that should be included. The important pieces are the specifics of boundaries, cost of coaching, time/meeting expectations, limitations, methods of coaching, persons involved, confidentiality, goals/purpose, cancellation/termination details, liability, and date/signature. These are expanse topics that would be necessary to specify with each coaching client and adjusted accordingly. Clients should have full understanding of agreement for their ability to participate and be protected; same goes for the coach. Coaching agreements protect and inform so as to deflect avoidable issues.  
Tiffany Pearson    A coaching agreement is a contract between the coachee and coach that creates an expectation of their journey together in life coaching. The key elements I believe that are important in a coaching agreement is to have an introduction, giving the client a little background of the coaching program and information about the coach. Also, a disclaimer to keep expectations in alignment and prevent the client to have unreasonable expectations. A coaching agreement it’s important to have a payment policy, to explain how payment are handled and what are the consequences for non-payment. Lastly, confidentiality is important to have because is prevent from sharing personal information with third parties. Having a caching agreement is a good way to show clients that the coach on top of things in business.

Introduction: As a leadership coach, I focus on helping leaders identify work and life goals to find a balance between these two areas. I believe everyone has their own personal brand of brilliance and my job is to help you identify your brilliance and use those strengths to excel in your organization. We will identify your values and goals so you can live them. I will help you to move through self-imposed limitations, create an effective timeline including time-management, manage stress, and thrive in an evolving organizational environment.
Responsibilities: The coach is responsible for making sure the client is well informed about when coaching sessions occur, the cost of sessions, communication, confidentiality, and cost of services (Peltier, 2010). The coach is responsible for delivering the services discussed in the introduction with the utmost professionalism (Peltier, 2010).
As the client you agree to notify the coach 24 hours in advance if you will miss a session, missed sessions without notice will result in a $50 fee. The sessions are for one hour. Check-ins will be agreed to after goals have been defined. Clients will communicate between sessions through email. Check-ins will be scheduled and conducted by phone.
Confidentiality: The coach agrees not to share any information with the organization without written permission from the client. The client will choose if they would like to share goals or progress with the organization. This is the only information that will be shared with the organization and only with written permission from the client. The coach will relay what the client is willing to share, and meetings can be arranged between all parties if the client agrees.
Cost of services: In-person sessions are $200 per hour. The number of sessions are dependent on goals and client needs (Arden Coaching, 2019). Phone check-ins are $25 per 15 minutes. Monthly programs are available for $2500 per month. Group sessions are also available, please talk to the coach and prices are determined by the number of participants.

Responsibilities
As your coach, I will do my best to help you gain self-awareness, clarify goals, achieve development objectives, unlock potential, and be the support you need on this pursuit of improvement and success. I will also respect you and remain professional at all times and expect the same in return.
As the client, you will be held accountable and responsible for your ultimate success. The sessions will be specifically design for you. This is your program; this is your time – we expect you the get the most out of the program and the use of your time. You are required to show up and do the work.
Boundaries of Confidentiality
As the coach, it is my upmost duty to ensure confidentiality. I assure you that I will not disclose any information obtained in session or out of session without the express permission of you, the client. The organization must also understand that information shared from the client to the coach is confidential. Unless the information provided can cause harm or danger to others within the organization, the information shared will remain confidential unless expressed by the client to share with the organization or stakeholders.
Cost of coaching
There are two options for the cost of our coaching program:
1. 1 payment of $3000 for 6 months of coaching which includes two face to face sessions every month, and one 60-minute session over the phone every month in between each of the face to face sessions. Payment is due on the specified date on your invoice.
2. 3 payments of $1000 for 6 months of coaching which includes two face to face sessions every month, and one 60-minute session over the phone every month in between each of the face to face sessions. Payment is due on the specified date on your invoice.
If for any reason FB Enterprises is offering a special discount/promotion for a limited time, then that replaces the above.
Personal and Professional Goals
Your coach is here to support and provide guidance on your way to accomplishing all of your goals. We will spend time discussing both personal and professional goals. Together we will identify strengths and weakness in order to develop a skillful plan to become successful in reaching the goals. As an executive coach we aim for improvement and progress in areas such as conflict management, building confident leaders, self-reflection, and time management & organization.
Timeline for Goal Completion
It is critical to establish a timeline for goal completion. The most effective goals have a timeframe or timeline in place that allows us to identify if we are on schedule in completing the coal. The first month of our sessions will focus on getting to know one another and identifying the goals the client would like to pursue. The second month of our sessions we will spend time constructing an action plan to accomplish the goals set. During these sessions of the second month we will establish a clear timeline of goal completion. The third month of our sessions will revolve around checking progress of the journey. We will assess during these sessions what is working and what is not working. If we identify several things that are not working then if the fourth month of our sessions we will adjust our action plan and implement new ideas to be more effective towards accomplishing the goal and overcoming the challenges. The fourth month is critical to establish benchmarks for improvement and adjustments if necessary. The fifth month of our session will involve checking in to make sure we are still on target to meet our goal completion deadlines. Also discuss if the changes we made are working out or if we need to revise the action plan one more time. The six and final month, we hope to receive a report that the goal is accomplished and prepare for ending the coaching relationship with successful results.
Check-in Points
It is necessary for the coach to have check-in points including in their coaching plan. There needs to be time allotted for checking in with the client to discuss progress and also time allotted for the coach to self-reflect. During the intervals of each session, prior to meeting with the client again, I will spend some time reflecting on how the last session went. I will analyze and determine if the plan is working or if adjustments or changes are needed. At the following session, I would begin the session with a brief review of the previous session and then discuss the activities or homework that was assigned for the client. At this time, is when I would like to hear from the client to identify successes and challenges. I want the client to determine if they feel they are making progress and if they are satisfied. If they are not satisfied then we will discuss what could have been done differently to achieve satisfaction.
Guidelines for leaving the Coaching Relationship
Guidelines for ending the coaching relationship is an important part of the coaching plan. These guidelines should include a review of the overall process. This is where the coach can visit the first session to the last and discuss the progress and achievement of the client’s goals. I plan to provide a survey in the last session for the client so I can document their feedback to learn what they enjoyed most and least about the services received. During this session, we will spend some time discussing how they will continue to use the skills they have learned from our coaching program. I would also like to learn in our last session if the client would be willing to recommend my services. The process of future goals with the client involves me ensuring the client that I am available in the future if they need additional services. I will also reach out and check in with them six months after our coaching session has been completed to confirm that all is well. I want the relationship with the client to end just as good or even better than it started. I want them to feel satisfied with the services received and believe that they can return if they need additional help in the future.

I agree with you on the basics of coaching, and roles of individuals to agree to each of them. I would wish to know if these should be identified and all put into writing, or some are basic things both parties should discuss and agree about. From his publication, McLennan (2017) admits that aspects like a date and a signature are paramount, but items to do with time could be discussed. I only have a question; what should happen if both parties do not agree to some items defined in the agreement? Tiffany
The disclaimer should indeed be included as a guide to each of the parties. However, I have a different opinion about the content and the background of the coaching topics. Shouldn’t this be included in the introductory class? The terms of the agreement should be adhered to, but humans are not perfect and are subject to failure at times. What happens if any party disobeys a clause? How will there be an amicable resolution to keep mutual and satisfying engagement?
