1.Was whistleblowing in any of the cases you read moral according to the guidelines discussed in the text? Explain your answer.
In the case Eller v. Idaho State Police, the Idaho Supreme Court ruled that Brandon Eller, the whistleblower, was protected against retaliation for uncovering a deputy's dangerous actions (Katz, Marshall & Bank, 2017). The case was moral, and the detective deserved the $1.53M awarded in the police retaliation case. Whistleblower retaliation indicates the lack of transparency and accountability, and the whistleblower had the right intention in following the law and failing to destroy reports on another officer's 2011 fatal incident. Additionally, whistleblower protection ensures integrity, and public employees are held to high standards where they are expected to act honestly with integrity and follow ethical conduct.
