Morality in the contemporary world has become a frequent and inherent aspect of daily social contact that is typically invisible to us. Human integrity has attracted a lot of scholarly attention over the years, incorporating a variety of academic fields, ideas, and methodological techniques that have produced knowledge that is far too vast to be reviewed (Haidt 2010). However, three general characteristics stand out within this collection of academic studies.
Occupational and ordinary morality. First, studies on morality are rarely grounded in experimental evidence. Studies of moral concerns often focus on interviewing, assessing, and researching tools that quantify morality prospectively, except for ethical philosophy, where factual evidence is largely lacking. As a result, these study methods frequently ignore moral existence's contextual, situational dimension. Second, many systems view morality as a personal quality that each individual possesses, a capacity for moral thinking and assessment, and a virtue. Such studies, however, overlook how social actors conduct themselves in real-world situations because they place morality in the individual's thinking. The social, contextually embedded formation of moral order is thus lost. Third, several empirical analyses integrate pre-conceptualized moral concepts, often from frameworks like Aristotelian virtue or Kantian duty-based ethics (Hudon et al. 2014). Thus, morality is reduced to a fixed set of standards, a theoretical construct, rather than assessing what sense of morality is being applied and realized by lay or professional members of society.
Professionals and clients: Models and metaphors. Professionals often assert that they are exempt from requirements that non-professionals must fulfill and have certain rights that non-professionals lack. Under recent criticism, the most apparent separation between professional obligations and those of non-professionals, especially in the medical area, has typically been abandoned. Delicate and divisive issues surround the remaining regions where professionals assert that they are immune from traditional morality. Most of the debate on this general topic has centred on professionals' duties to their clients (Dubois 2016). Professionals' obligations to third parties, or those other than their clients, may be much more significant.
Larry Nassar – former doctor for USA gymnastics. On January 24, 2018, a former physician for Gymnasts in the US and the State of Michigan, Larry Nassar, was given a prison term of up to 175 years for sexual violence. Among the most well-known cases, while serving as a sports doctor, Nassar was found guilty of molesting hundreds of women and girls. He committed a sexual assault on gymnast Maggie Nichols there in 2015 while performing a medical examination at a national team training camp. A concerned coach informed the USAG after he overheard Nichols and her fellow athlete talking about Nassar's assessment.
