Peter Koenig an economist and geopolitical analyst believes that the EU and its currency, the Euro are doomed to collapse. It’s just a question of time. George Soros chairman of Soros Fund Management and a pioneer of the hedge-fund industry feels that the post- Brexit turmoil has highlighted for people in Britain just what they stand to lose by leaving the EU. If this sentiment spreads to the rest of Europe, what seemed like the inevitable disintegration of the EU could be instead creating positive momentum for a stronger and better Europe.

The European Union is crumbling due to various events that negatively affect its stability once enjoyed in its early years. One of the uniting factors within the EU has been the Euro which is a shared currency across the 28 member states. The economic Eurozone is approximated to be valued at 19-trillion US-dollar which is the combined economy of the 28 countries (Koenig, 2019). Based on the recent events, including the BREXIT and the Coronavirus pandemic, financial vulnerabilities in the member states have led to the weakening of the EURO. If not corrected, the EURO faces an uncertain future in the global financial arena.
The EU and Britain have long enjoyed the mutual relationship resulting from the EU partnership. Britain was the largest economy in the union and played a significant role in developing the union and its members' states. Therefore, BREXIT will have adverse outcomes for both parties as the partnership comes to an end. However, due to the significant benefits attached to their relationship, it is expected that there will be a compromise in the exit deal. This will provide a ''soft landing'' for Britain and guarantee the union to benefit in the future through agreements with the largest economy in the Eurozone.
The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the financial woes that characterize the European Union and how it may affect the union's future. Due to the different economic statuses of the EU member states, some countries have been affected more than others.
