Lack of insight has been found to be an important predictor of adverse clinical outcomes, treatment non-compliance, and increased cognitive impairment (Aleman et al., 2006; Mohamed et al., 2009; Yen et al., 2005).  Yet, there were conflicting findings implying that having insight is not necessarily associated with positive outcomes, contribute much to the complexity of the insight construct, and were consequently coined as the “insight paradox” (Lysaker et al., 2007).Would having illness insight be a prerequisite to involve an individual in psychiatric rehabilitation programme or service?You must refer to the assessment rubric attached and satisfy the criteria ONE to FOUR.
