Introduction
The ecosystems theory refers to the developmental relationships in the broader society and community. This paper will analyze human behavior within the ecosystems theory, how systems interrelate, and apply the strengths perspective within the human services field.
The Ecosystem Perspective
The ecosystem perspective refers to the observance of the environment surrounding an individual or group when providing support. The levels of this perspective are mesosystem, exosystem, microsystem, and macrosystem. The microsystem consists of direct interactions between a person and his/her environment. Mesosystem refers to the interconnection between various systems, such as the impact of a social group on another. An exosystem encompasses the setting in which events occur in a system. Lastly, a macrosystem comprises society in aspects of culture, politics, religion, and the economy (Michael et al., 2018). The protection in the ecosystem involves the social support of family and friends and the neighborhood's social cohesion. In the mesosystem, the protective factor is majorly child education, while in the microsystem and macrosystem, factors such as ethnic identity, school satisfaction, and religious orientation reduce risk (Donald et al., 2019).
